EDGAR, which stands for Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval, is a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) online database. EDGAR performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the SEC.

Below is a link to the EDGAR Filer Management page. You can select “Apply for EDGAR Access (New)” on the left to fill out the Form ID. Once completed, it will have to be printed and notarized. It can then be electronically submitted to the SEC for review and issuance of access codes.

You can access the form from the SEC website HERE.

The reporting requirements vary greatly for different issuers, funds, and entities. A good filing agent, such as SEC Filing Solutions, should help you navigate the complexities of the financial reporting requirements to help you remain compliant.
